Global IT Company Expands to Prince Edward Island

The expansion of an international information technology company will create 30 new jobs in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, says Hon. Allan Campbell, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning.

“The Government of Prince Edward Island is pleased to welcome Millennium Care Inc. to the Island business community,” said Minister Campbell. “Information Technology has been identified as a key growth sector as outlined in the economic and innovation strategy, Island Prosperity: A Focus For Change. Today’s announcement will create long-term jobs and provide opportunities for further economic development in Summerside.”

Millennium Care Inc. has selected Summerside, Prince Edward Island, as its newest location to deliver on contracts for corporate clients based in 80 countries worldwide. The company also has offices in Toronto, Ontario, and Mumbai, India.

Millennium Care offers very detailed IT support for corporate customers. Employees will be required to complete specific training programs based on the support the company delivers to corporate clients all over the world. The company has been very successful in building specific teams that are responsible for resolving and managing IT issues using tailor made software and a world-class IT infrastructure. Employees are currently being recruited to work at the Summerside office.

Millennium Care is eligible to apply for programs offered through the Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning. The Province of Prince Edward Island is supporting the company with a labour rebate agreement of up to $477,000 for the first 30 positions created.
