Craft and giftware retailers will once again have the opportunity to source high-quality, Island-made crafts. The fourth annual Buyer’s Market will take place this weekend in Charlottetown.
This year’s Prince Edward Island Craft and Giftware Buyer’s Market will be held at a new location - the Delta Prince Edward Hotel on January 16 -17, 2004.
“Each year we strategically book the dates for this Buyer’s Market show before many buyers head off to other similar shows across Canada,” said Premier Pat Binns. “We believe this show deserves to be the ‘kick-off event’ for the buying season. Several buyers see first hand the quality products Islanders produce right here at home, and through this event Island producers have an opportunity to capture the buyer’s attention with their products.” In addition to over 60 returning producers, the event is pleased to welcome more than 15 new exhibitors. Retailers will be coming from as far away as New England to participate in the event. This wholesale show also features exciting seminars by two of Canada’s top retail sales presenters.
The keynote speaker for the morning seminar, “Dealing with the Difficult Customer,” Friday, January 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will be Shaun Belding.
On Saturday morning, January 17, the breakfast seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Leslie Kish Groves will be speaking about “Props for Pennies” at the seminar.
New to this year’s event is the “Taste of Prince Edward Island” food and beverage showcase. Exhibitors display retail, gift, and food service items for retailers and tourism operators to source new products. For more information, please call (902) 566-7690 or 1-800-563-3734.
