Four Beaujolais Nouveau wines introduced by the PEI Liquor Control Commission

The PEI Liquor Control Commission is pleased to announce that four Beaujolais Nouveau wines will be available for purchase starting this morning, Thursday, November 17, 2011.

The production of these wines began as a tradition in France’s Beaujolais region when local wine makers developed a quick maturing wine to enjoy with workers while celebrating the completion of the grape harvest.

The annual release of Beaujolais Nouveau wines has become an international event with these products now accounting for more than one third of the worldwide wine sales from France’s Beaujolais region.

The Beaujolais Nouveau wines released today are:

• 00530Y Pisse Dru Beaujolais Nouveau - $14.98

• 00212Y Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau - $15.89

• 00134Y Momessin Beaujolais Nouveau - $16.69

• 00432Y Labouré-Roi Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau “Hommage aux Acadiens” - $16.79

Due to the limited availability of these wines, not all listings will be available in each store. The PEILCC has ensured that each of its 18 retail outlets will carry at least one of these new offerings and encourages interested customers to shop early to avoid disappointment.
