* Development and Technology [to Apr 2008]
Focus on Resources, the provincial government's community outreach program on cable television, will begin airing a new series beginning February 23. Team Atlantic, the Council of Atlantic Premier's upcoming trade mission to New England, will be the focal point of the eight part series airing on the show. The series will profile the mission, as well as some of the companies that are participating from Prince Edward Island.

The Team Atlantic mission will include the four Atlantic Premiers, along with representatives from the federal government and forty companies from across the region. The purpose of the trade mission is to establish new business partnerships, increase trade and investment, and build strategic alliances between businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and companies located in the New England region.

The first in the Team Atlantic series will air this Tuesday, February 23, and will review the objectives of the mission and the importance of trade to Island companies. Guests for this segment will include Premier Pat Binns; Steve Murray, Director of Trade for Prince Edward Island; and Rob Oakie from Atlantic Canada Home, who recently returned from a successful trade mission in Poland and will be participating in the Team Atlantic trade mission to New England.

Focus on Resources airs every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm, immediately following the local CBC news, on Community Cable channels across the province. The show features the latest news and information on agriculture, fisheries, small business, tourism, aquaculture, forestry, the environment and the Knowledge Economy Partnership.
