Feedback on Municipal Government Act accepted until Oct. 22

Communities, Land and Environment
Islanders can continue to give their feedback on the new Municipal Government Act until October 22.

There have been four face-to-face consultation sessions since September in Elmsdale, Summerside, Charlottetown, and Montague attended by 60 Island municipalities.

“Consultation is well underway and we have engaged with more than 80 per cent of our municipalities across the Island,” Communities, Land and Environment Minister Robert Mitchell said. “I want to thank our municipal government leaders, municipal staff and members of the public who have participated to date – we value the input and look forward to continued collaboration with Islanders on this historic legislation.”

The presentation made at these consultations summarizing the proposed legislative changes is available for viewing and feedback on the Municipal Government Act website: www.princeedwardisland.ca/mga, which also contains fact sheets, a fillable feedback form and the draft act.
