Prince Edward Island producers of crafts, giftware, garden and consumer wood products have the chance to explore their products' potential in the Atlanta, Georgia marketplace. On Wednesday, June 12, giftware representatives, buyers and trade commissioners from Atlanta will be in Charlottetown to educate Island businesses about existing opportunities.
The Exploring Market Opportunities in Atlanta session is being held in preparation for a trade mission to Atlanta in September which will consist of craft and giftware producers from across Atlantic Canada. Previous multi-sector trade missions to this region have proven very successful and organizers are anticipating similar results for this industry.
"Prince Edward Island companies have established very successful trade relationships in the Atlanta market," said the Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology. "Based on this previous success, I am very confident that a trade mission promoting our quality crafts, giftware, garden and consumer wood products will yield similar results."
The Exploring Market Opportunities in Atlanta information session will be held at the Charlottetown Hotel on June 12 from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. For more information, or to register, contact Jennifer Evans at PEI Business Development at 569-7690.
Funding support for this project is being provided by the Canada/Atlantic Provinces COOPERATION Agreement on International Business Development (IBDA). The IBDA is a pan-Atlantic trade agreement between the four Atlantic Canadian provincial governments and the Government of Canada, represented by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Industry Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. It was designed to help small- and medium-sized companies in Atlantic Canada explore, enter and succeed in international markets.
