A new Prince Edward Island Craft, Art and Giftware Directory is now available at all PEI Visitor Information Centres. This directory encourages people to experience this vibrant industry by visiting local, talented artisans. There are a wide variety of fine crafts ranging from whimsical to profound, utilitarian to decorative, pottery to glass, wrought iron to jewellery listed in this booklet.
“This is a great chance to see some of the finest handcrafts and discover several Island shops,” said the Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology. “We have many talented craftspeople across this province so be sure to pick up a copy of this directory so you can see firsthand the quality products that are produced here at home.”
This easy-to-use booklet will provide a self-guided tour of all involved in the PEI craft industry in various regions across the province. There are three new sections in this year’s booklet: Craft Organizations and Guilds, Where to Dine and Stay and Where to Shop for Island-made Products. The directory can help visitors plan lunch at a tea room or café and a night in a cozy bed and breakfast. Over 150 studios, galleries, producers, shops, restaurants, guilds and organizations are participating in this year’s directory.
