Contractors and the general public can now access more inspection services at the Summerside Access PEI location, says Minister of Communities, Land and Environment Robert Mitchell.
“Expanded inspection services in Prince County will accelerate project timelines for contractors and the general public,” said Minister Mitchell. “Islanders living in western Prince Edward Island no longer have to drive to Charlottetown to receive these services, as Summerside is now a one-stop-shop to obtain the necessary permits required for most projects.”
The following services are now available in Summerside:
1) Home Heat Tank identification tags and inspection books will be available and completed inspection forms will be received;
2) Plumbing permits will be issued and payment received;
3) Boiler and Pressure Vessel installation and alteration forms can be picked up and returned; and
4) Electrical permit payments can be made.
Inspection Services, under the Department of Communities, Land and Environment, is responsible for the delivery of regulations and codes designed to protect public health, safety and the natural environment.
The branch is responsible for most approvals required for building or development including electrical, plumbing, heating and septic. For more information about regulations and codes delivered by Inspection Services, visit www.gov.pe.ca/environment/inspectionservices.
