Exceptional Season at Brookvale Winds Up March 25

* Tourism [to Jan 2010]
The Minister of Tourism, Greg Deighan, today announced the decision to close the Brookvale Winter Activity Park at the end of March Break as has been the practice in years past. The Minister noted that the park has experienced an increase in business over the winter, but numbers are now dwindling and keeping the park open beyond March 25 would not be a prudent business decision.

"We have seen a lot of activity at the Brookvale Winter Activity Park this winter and the season is now winding down. While it would be great to stay open until the last of the snow leaves us, that decision would negate the positives that all the snow brought to us this year." He added, "We would like to quit while we are ahead this year, and we have realized declining revenues over the last few weeks so we will stick with March 25 as a closing date."

Typically, people tend to hang up their equipment after the March Break and start focussing on spring. The demand simply does not justify the cost of the operation of the park after the end of March.

Brookvale is offering reduced rates for the entire month of March and details can be obtained by calling 368-7862.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the individuals and families that made Brookvale such a success this year," noted Minister Deighan. "We made the best of a very snowy winter at the park, and we hope to see the same success repeated next year. I hope everyone takes advantage of the specials at the park until closing. And, as Minister responsible, I would also like to congratulate the staff at the park for doing such a great job keeping up with the snow and the demand for activities. Everyone working at Brookvale chipped in to make this season 'one to remember.'"
