Environmental Advisory Council Welcomes New Members

Prince Edward Island’s Environmental Advisory Council has welcomed three new members, Environment, Energy and Forestry Minister Richard Brown announced today.

The three new members, Charlottetown entrepreneur Neil Harpham, former biology professor Daryl Guignion, and food safety expert and farmer Richard Davies, join other Environmental Advisory Council members in providing advice and recommendations on environmental issues to the department.

“These three gentleman bring strong backgrounds in environmental issues and community involvement to the Environmental Advisory Council,” said Minister Brown.

The new appointments were approved by Executive Council. Executive Council also approved the nomination of Allan Hicken as chair of the Environmental Advisory Council and Paula MacKinnon as vice-chair.

“Protecting and preserving the environment is the responsibility of all citizens,” said Minister Brown. “I am pleased that there are many voices advocating for good environmental practices to create a sustainable environment for future generations.”
