Entries Invited for Handcrafts and Arts Show

The Provincial Women’s Institute reminds all Islanders that the deadline is fast approaching to submit entries in the Handcrafts and Arts Show at the Provincial Exhibition taking place August 8-16. Entry forms and prize lists are available at the Women’s Institute Office, Royalty Centre, 40 Enman Crescent, Charlottetown. Forms must be postmarked by July 25th in order to be accepted.

“Each year the WI handcrafts and arts exhibit brings together talented exhibitors who share their skills and talents for the enjoyment of all present,” says Audrey Farquharson, exhibition chairperson. There are 15 different classes of entries in the exhibit, ranging from knitting and sewing, to art and photography, to foods and flowers.

The handcrafts and art exhibit is open to the public. Those entering do not have to be a Women’s Institute member, but must be a permanent resident of Prince Edward Island. Amateur artists and craftspeople of all ages are encouraged to enter their work.
