October 15, 2003 * Community and Cultural Affairs [to Jun 2007]The Prince Edward Island Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) is urging Islanders to use caution around trees as the winds are expected to increase to 80-90 km/ hour throughout the day and evening. Many trees across the province were weakened or damaged following Hurricane Juan on September 29, 2003. This damage may not be visible and even slight increases in winds can cause weakened trees to come down or loose limbs to fall. Islanders are reminded to use caution around trees that may have suffered damage following Hurricane Juan.Media Contact: Dave Campbell
