EMO Reminds Islanders of Weather Warning Issued by Environment Canada Today

* Community and Cultural Affairs [to Jun 2007]
The Maritimes Weather Centre has issued heavy rainfall warnings for 50 to 80 mm over Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Îles de la Madeleine along with wind warnings up to 100 km/h for Northeastern Nova Scotia.

Tropical Storm Gustav is moving north toward the Atlantic Region, and at the current time is increasing in intensity. There are concerns that the weather forecasted could bring about higher than normal tides after midnight tonight for the northern coasts of mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton, the Gulf of St Lawrence coast of New Brunswick and the coasts of Prince Edward Island.

The PEI Emergency Measures Organization reminds Islanders to pay close attention to regular weather forecasts for more information. There may be further updates throughout the day if required.
