* Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour [to Jan 2010]
The Emergency Measures Organization, part of the Prince Edward Island Office of Public Safety, has been working with the Department of Transportation and Public Works (TPW) to make emergency fuel supplies available for relief centers in West Prince. Through the PEI Division of the Canadian Red Cross, the Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) was made aware late Wednesday afternoon that some relief centers were running

low on the fuel needed to operate their power generators.

By Thursday morning, TPW will be delivering 2,800 liters of gasoline and 5,400 litres of diesel to their satellite depot in Alma where communities operating relief centers can pick up the fuel. As well, arrangements have been made to provide propane to a relief centre in Wellington which operates a power generator on propane.

The Tignish Fire Hall advises that they have made arrangements to have a refrigerated truck brought to the Fire Hall by Thursday morning. Residents are welcome to store food in the refrigerated truck to prevent against spoilage.
