East Prince Health has honoured 33 retiring employees and 23 employees marking long service milestones ranging from 20 to 30 years.
The recognition ceremony, held yesterday at the Shipyard Market in Summerside, was an occasion for family, friends and co-workers to gather to celebrate these accomplishments.
Katherine Kelly, CEO of East Prince Health, thanked retiring staff for their contribution to the health and well-being of residents in the area. “You have responded to many challenges and taken advantage of opportunities to have a positive impact on the health and well-being of the residents of East Prince. You can be justifiably proud of all you have accomplished, and I want to thank each and every one of you for the dedication you have demonstrated in the course of your work.”
She urged those who are retiring to take advantage of the new opportunities which await them, “Now is the time to explore new directions. I urge you to enjoy all the good things life has to offer.”
East Prince Health Board Vice-Chair Doreen Gunn expressed her appreciation of the contribution to the organization made by those marking long service milestones and extended best wishes to those who have retired. She described East Prince Health as an organization that had a strong vision as a community partner and commended the employees who worked tirelessly to make that vision a reality.
Also honoured at Wednesday’s event were three volunteer auxiliary organizations and five individual volunteers who have given selflessly of their time for periods as lengthy as 40 years.
