Detour Saturday on a portion of the Charlottetown Perimeter Highway

* Transportation and Public Works [to Jan 2010]
On Saturday, September 26, a section of the Charlottetown Perimeter Highway (CPH) between Mount Edward Road and Route 2 West, the Malpeque Road, will be closed to all traffic. The closure is necessary so crews can proceed with necessary work to the roadway as part of the CPH expansion.

A detour will be clearly marked and is as follows: at the Mount Edward Road intersection traffic heading west on the CPH will turn right onto Mount Edward Road, then left onto the Sherwood Road, then left onto Route 2, then right back onto the CPH. East bound traffic will take the same detour in the opposite direction. Delays are to be expected while the detour is in place and drivers are asked to use extra caution in the area on Saturday.

The portion of the CPH affected by the work will reopen to two-way traffic late Saturday, but crews will continue working in the area on Monday. Drivers are asked to slow down and use caution in the area.
