Detour Saturday on a portion of the Charlottetown Perimeter Highway

* Transportation and Public Works [to Jan 2010]
On Saturday, September 12, a section of the Charlottetown Perimeter Highway (CPH) between Mount Edward Road and Route 2 West, the Malpeque Road will be closed to west- bound traffic. The partial closure is necessary to allow for the replacement of a large cross culvert as crews continue work to expand the CPH to four lanes.

A detour will be clearly marked and is as follows: at the Mount Edward Road intersection traffic heading west on the CPH will turn right onto Mount Edward Road, then left onto the Sherwood Road, then left onto Route 2, then right back onto the CPH. East bound traffic will be able to pass through the project area. Delays are to be expected while the west-bound detour is in place and drivers are asked to use extra caution in the area on Saturday.

The portion of the CPH affected by the work will re-open to two way traffic late Saturday, but crews will continue working in the area on Monday. Drivers are asked to slow down and use caution in the area as crews will be on the road and parts of the road bed will be exposed.
