The following is a location-by-location update for major construction projects on Prince Edward Island.
West River Bridge, Route 19, New Dominion
Crews are installing the guard rails on the approaches to the bridge. Work is expected to wrap up Friday, October 29, depending on the weather. Traffic will be able to cross the bridge at that time.
Route 26, Stratford Road
Paving and curb installation activities continue on Stratford Road from Beasley Avenue to Keppoch Road. Lane closures, and stop-and-go one-way traffic, are expected due to the nature of this project. Paving is expected to be complete Saturday, November 6, depending on the weather. Work will continue on the sidewalks and landscaping.
Hillsborough Bridge, Stratford
Paving will continue for the next few days. Lane closures are necessary in order to complete the project, and there may be some delays. This work is expected to be done by Friday, October 29, depending on weather.
Charlottetown Bypass, St Peter’s Road to Southgate Drive
Crews will begin milling today. Paving is expected to begin Saturday, October 30. It will likely be complete by Wednesday, November 3, depending on the weather. Delays are expected as lane closures are necessary to complete the work.
Charlottetown Bypass, Park Street to Grafton Street
Crews will begin milling at this location later this week. Paving will begin once milling is complete. The project is expected to be complete by Saturday, November 6, depending on weather. Lane closures will be necessary and there may be some delays.
Trans Canada Highway, Cornwall, Dutch Inn
Milling activities continue. Paving is expected to begin today and will likely be complete Friday, November 5, depending on weather. Lane closures will be necessary and this may cause some delays.
Intersection of Route 2 and O’Leary Road, O’Leary Roundabout
Paving of the intersection continues. It is expected to be complete by Friday, October 29, depending on weather. Once complete, the intersection will begin operating as a single-lane roundabout while crews complete landscaping and off-road work.
Intersection of Wood Islands Road and Valleyfield Road, Montague Roundabout
Crews are now installing concrete curbs and aprons. Paving will begin Friday, October 29, depending on weather. Paving is expected to be complete Wednesday, November 3, depending on weather. The detour will be removed at that time and the intersection will begin operating as a single-lane roundabout.
St Peters Bridge, Route 2, St Peters
Work continues to replace the bridge. The project is expected to be complete in late February depending on weather.
Kildare Bridge, Route 12, Central Kildare
Crews continue to work on the bridge replacement, which is expected to be complete by the end of December depending on weather.
Darnley Bridge, Route 20, Darnley
Work continues on the bridge replacement project which should be complete the end of April, depending on weather.
