Department investigating cause of gastrointestinal illness

Health and Wellness
The Department of Health and Wellness is investigating a possible outbreak of gastrointestinal illness. Several people who ate food distributed as part of a community meal from the Princetown United Church in Malpeque have since experienced nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It is not certain yet as to whether the illness is connected with the community meal but, as a precaution, anyone who still has any of the meal at home is advised not to eat it.

There have been no cases of serious illness or hospital admissions due to the illness, and anyone who is ill is advised to call 1-800-958-6400 to report the illness. Your call will be returned within 24 hours.

If symptoms persist it is advised to seek medical attention.
