Department advising of whiteout conditions and drifting on Island roads

The department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal is advising motorists that the high wind and blowing snow is causing whiteout conditions and drifting on roads, particularly in Central Queens and East Prince.

Conditions are closing some roads, as they are filling in with snow even as plows work to clear them.

Drivers are reminded to listen for RCMP updates and follow them.
