Consultations scheduled for Water Act

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, August 17, 2015 --- Islanders are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Water Act consultations, said Minister of Communities, Land and Environment Robert Mitchell.

“Logistics have been determined for the primary phase of consultations on Prince Edward Island’s Water Act. This legislation is important for all Islanders as it will be used to protect and conserve our water supply for years to come,” said Minister Mitchell.

Prince Edward Island’s Environmental Advisory Council will lead the consultations and information gathered will aid in the drafting of the legislation that will be presented for public review and feedback next year.

“Members of our committee look forward to meeting with the public this fall. We strongly encourage Islanders to register for an upcoming session to ensure their voices are heard in the development of P.E.I.’s Water Act,” said Richard Davies, Chair of the Environmental Advisory Council.
