November 4, 1998 * Education [to Apr 2008]Canadian poet Julie McNeill will visit the Confederation Centre Public Library on Monday, November 9. She will start the day at 8:00 a.m., by presenting a reading from her recently launched book collection, "Four Red Crescent Moons." While "Four Red Crescent Moons" is McNeill's first published collection, she has been published in various anthologies and magazines for almost 20 years. She has also been reading and reciting her work on stage and over the radio for many years. Her identification with the long oral tradition in poetry, and her experience in presenting her work directly to an audience, is revealed in the strong lyrical voice of her work. McNeill's publisher, Wolsak and Wynn, have been publishing the work of outstanding Canadian poets since 1983. Several of their authors have been nominated for and two of them have won the Governor General's award for Poetry, as well as other literary awards and prizes. Confederation Centre Library invites library patrons to McNeill on November 9, during her Eastern Canadian tour. Media Contact: Don Scott
