Cellar Door Productions Inc., a Charlottetown based creative and diverse film and television company, today announced it is moving its operation to Atlantic Technology Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
Cellar Door Productions has developed both live action and animated programming, including Eckhart, The True Meaning of Crumbfest, The Inn Chef and Chef at Large with Chef Michael Smith which are broadcast in countries around the world. The company is now in production of a new animated series called "Doodlez." The animated series is being developed in collaboration with Trapeze Media of Toronto, with full production taking place in a subsidiary office located in Prince Edward Island.
"We view this move into the Atlantic Technology Centre as a significant step forward into a facility that will further support our innovative programming and future partnerships," stated Gretha Rose, Cellar Door's President.
"We expect the unexpected to occur between Cellar Door and other tenants of the ATC. Our collaboration with Trapeze Media on Doodlez is a prime example of the relationships that the ATC will help foster," continued Rose.
The Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology says one of the goals of ATC is to provide infrastructure for media companies like Cellar Door. "We have known for some time we have tremendously talented companies like Cellar Door who have had to go outside the province to complete some of their projects," said Minister Currie. "This allows us to keep more work here in PEI, providing more opportunities for our workforce and our youth."
Cellar Door will lease 1,000 square feet of corporate office space.
Scheduled to open in August, ATC will feature a world class media production environment for television and new media projects with multimedia theatres, digital audio, and picture editing suites, television production studio, green screen and webcasting capability.
