The Brookvale Winter Activity Park will see some interesting training events September 14-22 with the arrival of a Quebec Biathlon training team. The team will arrive on the Island on September 13 and practice almost every day from 9:30 - 11:30 am, weather permitting.

"It's great to see the nordic trails put to good use," noted Tourism Minister Greg Deighan. "The team seems very excited to have the opportunity to get out and train at our facility, and we are more than happy to see them utilize our site."

The team is comprised of National Biathlon team member Steve Cyr, a member of the national team since 1987, with an impressive list of championship accomplishments as well Quebec team members Carl Pelletier, Patrice Cote and Eric Lefebvre.

The Minister added, "Brookvale obviously has appeal even when the snow doesn't fly, with various events held on the trails on bicycles and on foot, and now we can add a biathlon training event as well. It's great to see the property being used to its fullest potential, and I am sure the team will leave with some great impressions of Prince Edward Island."

Anyone wanting to reach the team members for interviews can contact Tourism PEI for further details.
