In an effort to allow Islanders the opportunity to express their sympathies to families of victims of Tuesday's horrific events in the United States, Premier Pat Binns announced that a book of condolence, initiated by Hennessey and Cutcliffe Funeral Homes will be available at all 12 Access PEI locations.
The Premier conveyed that the book will be available starting on Saturday, September 15 at the Stratford, Morell, North Rustico and Crapaud Access PEI locations, beginning at 8:30 am and will remain until Thursday at closing. The book will also be available at all Access PEI locations, beginning on Monday at 8:30 am. The Hennessey and Cutcliffe Funeral Homes, located at 35 Longworth Avenue in Charlottetown, will also have the book available until Thursday.
"All Islanders were shocked and saddened by recent events in the US and we want to give Islanders the opportunity to express their sympathies to the members of the victims' families," said the Premier. "Under the stress and spur of these difficult times, we must offer our prayers for those who have died and our comforts for those left behind to mourn."
Premier Binns encourages all Islanders, regardless of where they find themselves at 2 pm today, to observe a moment of silence.
Access PEI sites are located in Tignish, Alberton, O'Leary, Wellington, Summerside, North Rustico, Charlottetown, Stratford, Crapaud, Morell, Montague and Souris.
