The Honourable Wes MacAleer, Minister of Community Services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Allan J. MacPhee, Q.C. as Chair of the Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal and Pamela J. Williams as Vice-Chair.
"These appointments reflect this government's commitment to efficient operations within the Workers Compensation system," says Minister MacAleer. "I am confident that Allan's and Pamela's leadership skills will enhance the Appeal Board's decision making, and serve the interests of all parties that appear before the tribunal extremely well."
Allan MacPhee is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the PEI Law Society. He has practised law since 1978, has extensive experience in civil litigation and manages his own private practice. Mr. MacPhee has served as a volunteer with numerous professional, community and charitable organizations, including the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Pamela Williams is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the PEI Law Society. She completed her Bar admission in 1996 and is an associate at the firm of Patterson Palmer Hunt Murphy where she specializes in employment and personal injury law. Ms. Williams has been an active member in the community, volunteering with a number of non-profit groups, including the United Way and Junior Achievement.
Minister MacAleer notes that both appointments are effective immediately.
