Binns Cabinet Meets in Stratford

Premier's Office
Premier Pat Binns and the Provincial Cabinet are meeting in Stratford today as part of their regular summer tour schedule. Provincial officials are convening this morning at the new Stratford Town Hall for meetings with Mayor Kevin Jenkins and the Stratford Town Council, as well as other local community leaders.

Provincial Cabinet, along with local MLA David McKenna, are also meeting with representatives of the Glen Stewart School improvement committee.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to meet with officials in Stratford – a community that has achieved great success by developing a strong partnership with the Provincial Government,” said Premier Binns. “Since the amalgamation of the town, Stratford has proven to be one of PEI’s fastest growing communities and we are here today to get input from local officials on how we are going to continue with that partnership.

The Premier noted the Province has worked closely with the Town of Stratford to spearhead a number of significant projects, such as major infrastructure projects for water and sewer upgrades and investments in small businesses. He said his government remains committed to working closely with Island communities like Stratford to make the Island stronger.
