Patrick G. Binns was sworn in today as the 32nd Premier of the Province of Prince Edward Island. The ceremony was held at Government House, presided over by Lieutenant Governor Gilbert Clements.
A resident of Hopefield, Premier Binns was elected on November 18, 1996, as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the District of Murray River-Gasperaux.
A farmer and business person, he has served previously in the Island Legislature and has served as a Member of Parliament.
