Chris Bradford, well-known British author of the Young Samurai series, will be visiting Charlottetown for an author visit unlike any other, says Minister of Tourism and Culture Robert Vessey.
“'This is a wonderful opportunity for library patrons to participate in an interactive dynamic reading with the author,” said Minister Vessey. “Libraries play an important role in exposing patrons to literary works through live readings, books, audio and visual technologies.”
Bradford will be at the Confederation Centre Public Library on Saturday, September 4, at 10:30 a.m. During his visit, he will be doing a book signing. People may bring their own copies or they can purchase the book onsite.
“The Young Samurai event presents a unique opportunity to meet an author,” said Chief Librarian Trina O’Brien Leggott. “There will be an authentic samurai sword display and people will be able to watch videos of Bradford’s adventure in Japan. The Young Samurai event will be very exciting and interactive.”
The tour is made possible by Bradford’s publisher, Penguin Group, in partnership with the Public Library Service of the Department of Tourism and Culture.
