Attorney General Congratulations Chief Justice DesRoches

Attorney General Jeffrey E. Lantz offered his congratulations to Chief Justice J. Armand DesRoches on his appointment as the Chief Justice of the Trial Division of the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island.

"Chief Justice DesRoches has served the province well as a justice since 1991," says Attorney General Lantz. "He has a strong desire to assist the public in better understanding the justice system to ensure that people who access the system obtain the best possible outcomes."

Chief Justice DesRoches was appointed by the Government of Canada to replace retiring Chief Justice Kenneth R. MacDonald. Justice MacDonald will remain on as a supernumerary judge.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Wayne Cheverie on being named justice of the Trial Division of the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island," says Lantz. "I wish you well as you take on a new challenge in the justice system of Prince Edward Island."
