The Community Access Program (CAP) site at Atlantic Technology Centre (ATC) welcomed its 10,000th visitor on June 7, 2005. To mark this milestone, the ATC CAP site is hosting an open house and inviting the public to drop in and explore services offered by the CAP site such as training, classes and upcoming summer camps. The 10,000th visitor, Wayne Guidon, will be presented with a boom box, courtesy of the Future Shop. Members of the public will be invited to enjoy free cake and coffee. The public will also be invited to attend a free show at the InterACTIVE Theatre.
The CAP site has been open on the first floor of ATC since September 2004. The site offers free internet access at six computer terminals. The CAP Centre also has a training lab, which is located downstairs in the facility. The lab houses 8 computers used for training, group bookings or other word processing applications.
“The Community Access Program has been popular right across the Island, but it has been a special success at ATC,” said Development and Technology Minister Mike Currie. “The Technology Centre has proven its worth as a business centre and this milestone certainly indicates its popularity with the community as well.”
The celebration will take place on Friday, June 10 from 2 - 4 p.m. Show times for the free InterACTIVE theatre showings are:
2:30 p.m. - Dinosaurs: Beyond Extinction
3:00 p.m. - Sharks
