February 9, 2001 * Community and Cultural Affairs [to Jun 2007]Ministers responsible for culture from the four Atlantic provinces will be meeting in Charlottetown on Sunday. The meeting is being held in conjunction with the East Coast Music Awards which run from February 8 to February 11. Community and Cultural Affairs Minister Gail Shea will be hosting the meeting. She noted that the ECMA celebration is a great opportunity for the Minister's to meet. "Given the interest in the awards and the role that culture ministries play in supporting artists, many ministers were planning on attending the awards ceremony," says Minister Shea. "I look forward to meeting with my colleagues from other provinces as our culture crosses the region and we have much to share." The ministers will be reviewing a number of regional activities in the cultural sector including arts stabilization and joint activities. In addition presentations will be made to the ministers by the Atlantic region arts councils and representatives of the music industry in the area. Following the formal meetings, the ministers will be attending the East Coast Music Awards gala in Charlottetown.Media Contact: Harry Holman
