Brian Dingwell, President of the Prince Edward Island 4-H Council, has announced that the Council's Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 21. The event will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the C.P. Prince Edward Hotel. The Awards Banquet recognizes 4-H members, leaders and clubs who have distinguished themselves in the past. It is also an opportunity to thank the many individuals and businesses who have contributed to 4-H.

Fifty-nine leaders will be recognized for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 years of service to the 4-H program. These leaders have contributed an amazing total of 495 years to the program. Five special awards will be presented: The J. Thomas Driscoll Memorial Award (an award for the club most involved in community work); the Most Improved Club Award; the Dawndale Farm Supplies Top Livestock Member Award; the Women in Support of Agriculture Leader Award; and the Friend of 4-H Award.

The Annual Meeting of the Prince Edward Island 4-H Council is also scheduled for February 21, at 9:00 a.m. in the Elfin-Pekeha Room.
