2015 Provincial General Election

The 2015 Provincial General Elections PEI was held as scheduled on May 4, 2015. There were 95,444 people confirmed as eligible voters prior to ordinary polling day and in total, 81,998 people voted in the election. These numbers indicate 86% of confirmed electors participated in voting during the election.

In the three (3) day advance polls, there were a total of 28,897 people voted which is just over 30 % of confirmed electors.

"Elections PEI is very pleased with the voter participation during the election," states Gary McLeod, Chief Electoral Officer. "There were several modifications made to the process which has and will prove to be beneficial as we continue to look at ways to engage voters. This includes using technology to track voter participation which includes being able to identify demographics of the voters to better understand voting challenges and involvement."

Elections PEI will be working with our partners to look at ways to improve on our methods as we prepare for future elections.
