With the cold temperatures and snow on the ground, many people look forward to the release of the Prince Edward Island Visitors Guide to begin plans for their summer vacation. The 2004 edition is complete and ready for distribution to potential visitors who are considering Prince Edward Island as their vacation destination for the coming season. Tourism PEI Minister, Philip Brown, visited the distribution centre in West Royalty to check out the newest edition as staff began mailing them out.
Every year the Visitors Guide becomes more popular with 370,000 copies printed for the 2004 season, and the province is more than happy to provide interested travellers with the publication. The informative 232-page magazine-styled guide outlines all the details required to plan an upcoming trip, and the photographs of Prince Edward Island are enough to lure a traveller on their own.
“Most Islanders like to get a peek at the new guide each year,” noted Minister Brown. “Almost everyone on the Island will be familiar with a location or person highlighted and it’s fun to leaf through the publication to see whom you know. Of course, the Guide has a serious mandate to provide information to travellers and it is used as a marketing tool for the many properties across the Island. My staff takes great pride in the quality of the Visitors Guide and the many other publications that are created in our offices through our collaboration with the Tourism Marketing Authority.”
In addition to the release of the 2004 Visitors Guide, updated versions of Island Value Vacations, the Highway Map and the Coupon Book round out the 2004 Prince Edward Island vacation planning kit.
The guide is printed in both English and French and is also provided on-line in both languages at www.peiplay.com or www.ipevacances.com.
Tourism industry partners and the travelling public will be pleased with the high-calibre delivery of information in the 2004 guide. Whether you choose the written version or the internet, you are sure to find all the information you need to plan a great vacation on Prince Edward Island.
