Fifteen Prince Edward Island students are heading to Lethbridge, Alberta where they will represent the province at the National Historica Heritage Fair from July 9 - 16, 2007.
The National Heritage Fair is an annual event which brings together students from across Canada to share their experience and culture. The Fair is the culmination of a series of heritage fairs at local schools and provincial events in all provinces and territories. Prince Edward Island participants were selected following the provincial heritage fair in May.
Carolyn Bertram, Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour praised the students for the high quality of work which will be showcased at the National Fair. “The students have worked hard and demonstrated their appreciation and understanding of the unique and important history of Prince Edward Island and of Canada,” she said. “I am pleased that these students will represent our province and proudly share our heritage at this national exhibition.”
