Judicial recount for Charlottetown

A judicial recount for the Councillor position in Ward 1 in the City of Charlottetown Municipal Election was conducted this morning by Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr at the Elections PEI office.

The results of the judicial recount for the two candidates, Eddie Rice and Jamie Larkin, did not change the number of votes received for each candidate. Eddie Rice received 512 votes while Jamie Larkin received 503 votes with 27 rejected ballots. Of the 27 rejected ballots, 26 did not indicate a vote for either candidate. As a result, Eddie Rice has been elected as the Councillor representing Ward 1 in the City of Charlottetown. Both candidates have been advised of the outcome.
