The Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie (MCCF) works for an open, dynamic and diverse Francophonie that contributes to, and participates fully in, the growth of Canadian society, says Premier Robert Ghiz, minister responsible for Acadian and Francophone Affairs.
“This conference brings together federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for Francophone Affairs to examine priority issues for French-speakers across the country,” says Premier Ghiz. “My colleagues and I value this opportunity to exchange best practices, to learn from our experiences and to contribute to strengthening the Canadian Francophonie.”
Ministers will gather at the Rodd Brudenell River Resort on June 26 and 27, 2014. PEI’s Acadian and Francophone community leaders have been invited to join the ministers on the evening of June 26 for a tribute to Acadian chanteuse and proud Islander, Angèle Arsenault, who passed away earlier this year. Ministers will be available for a news conference at 12 p.m. (noon) on June 27 to be held on site.
