Intergenerational Day reminds us of the importance of simple and respectful connections between generations, says Valerie E. Docherty, Minister of Community Services and Seniors.
“I am pleased to recognize June 1 as Intergenerational Day in Prince Edward Island,” said Minister Docherty. “Younger people can learn so much from Island seniors who have a broader perspective on life experiences, and seniors can stay connected and active through relationships with younger people.”
Intergenerational Day, June 1, kicks off a month of events which will focus on respectful intergenerational relations. The celebration will continue later in 2014 during the fourth annual Intergeneration Week (September 14-20).
“Everyone wins when we create stronger intergenerational relationships,” said Minister Docherty.
