Elections will be held on May 26, 2014 to elect trustees for the French Language School Board. There are nine trustee positions which are required to be filled.
Gary McLeod, Chief Electoral Officer for Prince Edward Island, is announcing the call for nomination of candidates effective April 28. Candidate qualifications and a list of returning officers were published on Monday in daily newspapers. Nomination papers are available from returning officers in each of the electoral zones. Nomination papers, candidate qualifications and zone maps are also located on the Elections P.E.I. website at www.electionspei.ca. as well as the French Language School Board website at www.cslfipe.wordpress.com. Nominations will be accepted by the returning officer in each of the six zones until 4 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014.
The French Language School Board has a total of six electoral zones across the province and will elect a total of nine trustees to the Board:
• Zone 1 (Évangéline Region) – three (3) trustees;
• Zone 2 (West Prince) – one (1) trustee;
• Zone 3 (East Prince) – one (1) trustee;
• Zone 4 (North Shore) – one (1) trustee;
• Zone 5 (Queens County to Eastern P.E.I.) – two (2) trustees;
• Zone 6 (Eastern P.E.I.-Souris ) – one (1) trustee.
