Six very talented Island authors have been shortlisted for the biennial Prince Edward Island Book Awards, says Minister of Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson.
“The Book Awards are a great way to recognize the tremendous talent that exists in the Island’s literary community and to increase the profile of Island authors,” said Minister Henderson. “I’d like to congratulate those who made the short list and thank everyone who put their name, or the name of an Island author, forward for consideration for the short list. I also thank the judges who had the unenviable task of choosing the short list from so many worthy nominations.”
The 2014 PEI Book Awards will take place in conjunction with the Atlantic Book Awards on May 21 at the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre. The Atlantic Book Awards are in Charlottetown this year as part of the planned 2014 celebrations.
In total 28 books were nominated for awards.
