Statement by Premier Robert Ghiz on the Nova Scotia election

On behalf of the Government of Prince Edward Island, I would like to congratulate Stephen McNeil on his victory in the Nova Scotia provincial election last night.

I also want to thank Premier Darrel Dexter for his dedication and leadership in the Atlantic Provinces and his service to Canada as chair of the Council of the Federation in 2012-2013. I have enjoyed many years of collaborative work with Premier Dexter, and I want to wish him well going into the future.

Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia have always shared a deep relationship due to our geographic proximity but also share many common interests. I look forward to working on these priorities with Premier-designate Stephen McNeil in the years ahead.
