Daffodils were everywhere in April thanks to the efforts of the PEI Liquor Control Commission who generated over $20,000 in customer donations in support of the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual daffodil pin campaign.
“Our customers have shown their generosity when prompted by staff to support the work of the Canadian Cancer Society on Prince Edward Island,” said Hon. Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “The PEI Liquor Control Commission is proud to support initiatives like this one that benefit Islanders across the province.”
The Canadian Cancer Society is pleased to have established this partnership. It not only increased revenues raised through pin sales, it also helped create awareness of the daffodil, the Society’s symbol of hope.
“As many employees have been personally touched by cancer, the team at the PEI Liquor Control Commission was incredibly enthusiastic about supporting the cause. It is a relationship we hope will continue well into the future and we thank them for their support,” says Lori Barker, Executive Director of the Canadian Cancer Society, P.E.I. Division.
The funds raised through this daffodil campaign will support local programs and services offered by the Canadian Cancer Society, PEI Division.
