Island students receive awards at annual Heritage Fair

* Tourism and Culture [to May 2015]
Island students were recognized today for their outstanding projects at the annual Prince Edward Island Heritage Fair, says Minister of Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson.

“I am very impressed with the imagination and creativity put on display today at the Heritage Fair,” said Minister Henderson. “Each of the 193 students that participated should be very proud of their projects which highlighted various aspects of our shared heritage including family histories, historic buildings, lifestyles and historic individuals.”

In total, 158 projects were on display at this year’s Heritage Fair. Those projects were selected to attend the provincial fair after their individual school fairs. Awards were presented to students with the top projects in each grade level. In addition, a number of prizes sponsored by national and local organizations were awarded.

45 special prizes and awards for individual projects were given out today, as well as prizes for the 15 finalists who were recognized for having the top projects.
