Islanders now have better and easier access to a wide variety of information on safe driving laws and practices thanks to a new Highway Safety website, says Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Robert Vessey.
“National Road Safety Week takes place May 14-20, and I am pleased that our staff is launching this new site to coincide with the week. The site will help to promote awareness of safe driving and road and highway safety issues,” said the minister.
The Highway Safety Division’s website consolidates information about highway safety in a central online location within gov.pe.ca. The site categorizes information in a user-friendly way with sections dedicated to safety, driver education, licensing and registration, among others.
“The Highway Safety Division has a responsibility to promote safe driving conditions on Prince Edward Island roads and highways. This new website will help us accomplish that goal by offering clear and concise information for Island drivers,” said the minister.
The new website is the first for the Department to be fully translated into French. The site can be accessed at www.gov.pe.ca/highwaysafety.
