The Chair of the Operations Committee of the Provincial Cabinet announced that their next meeting will be on the road tomorrow in the community of Murray Harbour. The Committee will meet with local municipal officials about issues and opportunities in the area, as well as touring local businesses.

“We believe it is important to meet with groups in Island communities to hear how we can continue to improve our communities and make them a better place to live in the short and long term,” said Committee Chair, the Hon. Robert Vessey.

The Operations Committee is mandated to establish and review government’s legislative and regulatory agenda, as well as provide advice to Cabinet on legislative and regulatory matters.

Local MLA for Belfast-Murray River Charlie McGeoghegan looks forward to the visit. “I’m looking forward to hosting my colleagues in Murray Harbour where we will have an opportunity to discuss issues that are very important in my community.”

This is part of a series of meetings the Operations Committees is holding in communities across the Island over the summer months.
