Statement: On the resignation of Sharon Labchuk from the Green Party leadership

On behalf of the Government of Prince Edward Island, I want to extend my very best wishes to Sharon Labchuk as she leaves the leadership of the Prince Edward Island Green Party.

Although we often disagreed on points of policy, I have always admired Sharon’s deep devotion to public issues and, in particular, her environmental advocacy.

As a result of Sharon’s work, Islanders have learned a great deal more about the environmental challenges facing our province – and her tireless efforts extend well beyond her tenure as leader of the Green Party. I certainly trust this will continue in the future, and I wish her well in all her endeavours.
