The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC) is running a fundraising campaign in support of the Canadian Red Cross during the month of July. During this second annual campaign, PEILCC customers will be able to make donations at cash that will support local Red Cross programs that benefit all Island residents.
“The work of the Red Cross benefits Islanders in many ways,” noted Hon. Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “The PEILCC looks forward to building on the success of its 2011 inaugural campaign, which raised over $49,000.”
“In its first year, this campaign with the PEILCC frankly overwhelmed us by its degree of success, becoming one of the top sources of donations we have experienced on the Island with such an event, so we’re extremely grateful to the commission for its support and to its patrons for their generosity,” said Laura Johnson-Montigny, PEI director of the Canadian Red Cross.
Funds raised through this campaign will support key programs and services across the Island including free loans of health mobility equipment, summer camps and other programs for youth.
PEILCC customers are welcome to choose their level of donation and can request a tax donation for those donations over $10.
