June 29, 2012 Executive Council OfficeIslanders are invited to contribute their best shots to the Prince Edward Island Community Photo and Video Contest, which runs from July to August 24, 2012. The contest is an opportunity for Islanders of all ages to show off the events and unique attractions of their communities and favourite places of Prince Edward Island. Photo and video submissions can include natural areas such as parks, trails and rivers; community events such as ceilidhs, festivals, carnivals and sporting events; as well as local buildings including town halls, community halls and libraries. Submissions will be judged every Friday beginning July 6 until August 24, 2012. Weekly prizes include free passes to Prince Edward Island Museum and Heritage sites and provincial campgrounds for the 2012 season. Winning entries will be posted to www.gov.pe.ca/2012summercontest as well as Government of Prince Edward Island social media channels including Flickr and YouTube.
