~ Over 100 schools to receive “Anne of Green Gables” books across India~
New Delhi: Premier Robert Ghiz announced today a gift of 200 copies of “Anne of Green Gables” on behalf of the people of Prince Edward Island to children and schools across India. Over 100 schools will benefit from this book donation.
The Premier made this announcement following a reading from “Anne of Green Gables,” one of Canada’s most-beloved children’s books to students at Sanskriti School, Delhi.
Background information:
Premier Robert Ghiz is leading a delegation to Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore from 25 February to 2 March. The objective of this mission is to strengthen Canada – India business ties and explore collaboration opportunities with Prince Edward Island in the areas of business, education, tourism and innovation.
The other key members in the delegation include Allen Roach, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning; Cheryl Paynter, CEO of Innovation Prince Edward Island; and representatives from Holland College, the University of Prince Edward Island, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
